Trail Maintenance - 2008
Bruce & Tom's Trail Maintenance Day #
1
Project # BAT050408
Date:
05.04.2008
Regardless of the heavy rain, the
first Tompson Street Reservation trail project was complete with great
success. This trail project was a combined effort by Dieselbikes,
NSNEMBA and
Sinister Bikes with approval by Essex
County Greenbelt Land Managers. The general scope of this project was
to re-route an existing trail to more stable ground and add some "fun"
natural technical features.
This new trail sections was rather a
fun build with the exception of the persistent rain and it was great to work
with a bunch of new faces. The trail features a number of natural
technical challenges including a 15-foot log ride, rock gardens and a rock
chute that is sure to keep you behind the seat. Tons of rock armoring, bench
cutting and love went into this trail for all to enjoy. As usually, we
ask that you get on your bike and hit this trail when you can to help begin
packing the trail thread.
I want to extend my personal thanks to
each individual (listed below) that helped complete this project. Again,
this was a combined effort with
NSNEMBA and
Sinister Bikes and we at Dieselbikes look
forward working with these organizations again in future trail builds and/or
maintenance projects.
