Trail Maintenance - 2008
Bruce & Tom's Trail Maintenance Day #
2
Project # TRS20081005
Date:
10.05.2008
It was a beautiful day this past
Sunday and the second Tompson Street Reservation trail project was completed
with great success. This trail project was a combined effort by Dieselbikes,
Sinister Bikes and NSNEMBA with approval by Essex County Greenbelt Land
Managers. The general scope of this project was to cut a new trail to
eliminate an existing section that had become severely eroded.
The new trail utilized a few old
existing trail sections that became over grown in the past decade. An
estimated 0.25 miles of trail was added to the existing system. This new
trail utilizes many natural terrain features and has tons of flow in both
directions. We ask the bike community to get out and ride this trail to
begin the natural packing of the trail thread. We will be out in the spring
making any adjustments if required.
I want to extend my personal thanks to
each individual (listed below) that helped complete this project. Again,
this was a combined effort with Sinister Bikes and NSNEMBA. We at
Dieselbikes look forward working with these organizations again in future
trail builds and/or maintenance projects.
