Lynn Woods Trail Maintenance Day # 3
Project # LYW060405
Date: 06.04.2005
They said it couldn't be done, but WE all did it! Lynn Woods Maintenance
Volunteers were able to complete 100% of our third trail maintenance project
today. This work was completed (see pictures below) on the trail leading
from Bow Ridge to the Wolf Pits. A section of the trail was trenched with
the installation of a 10" Diameter PVC pipe to re-directed water under the
trail. A trench was then dug parallel to the trail allowing the water to
drain without causing trail erosion.
We were also able to armor a section on the lower half of this trail that
has been severely eroded from consistent water running down it. The trail is
not prefect but now is fun for bikers to climb and ride down. This section
will be monitored over the summer with a returning Trail Day visit in
September to complete the finial armoring requirements.
With phase 1 completed, we will work with Park Management on achieving
approval to install a Ladder Bridge at the base of this trail to cross the
flood zone near the Wolf Pits.
This was a big project and I must say that everyone work there ASS off to
finish. At no point did we lose sight of the project, completing it in a
record 3 hours!
I want to extend my personal thanks to each individual (listed below) that
helped complete this project. I look forward to see everyone again in future
trail builds and/or maintenance projects.
