Lynn Woods Trail Maintenance Day # 5
Project # LYW092405
Date: 09.24.2005
We (Lynn Woods Maintenance Volunteers) were able to complete 100% of our
fifth trail maintenance project. This trail work was completed (pictures
will be posted) on a section of trail located near the Great Frog Boulder
(Map intersection D4-1). This section has severely eroded over the past few
years that made it difficult (and not fun) to climb up and/or ride down.
All the volunteers worked hard today to complete the new Overlook Trail
re-route. We have built two stone walkways providing proper water drainage
and eliminate trail soft spots.
This new sections includes some technical rock features such as kickers and
rollers. During our build we had bikers climbing up and running down this
trail. Everyone said it is awesome!
I ask everyone to ride this new section so that the process of packing the
soil naturally will occur. My team and I will monitor this section for next
two months making any adjustment if required.
TRAIL SIGNS and MARKERS for this section will be posted this upcoming week
to ensure all riders in this area will know where the new trail section
starts and ends.
I want to extend my personal thanks to each individual (listed below) that
helped complete this project. This was a huge project (200 feet of trail)
and everyone worked there ASSES off! I look forward to see everyone again in
future trail builds and/or maintenance projects.
